Service Description

This private one-on-one class is designed for students who want to learn the fundamentals of creating and stacking a two-tier wedding cake. Whether you’re an aspiring cake decorator or simply curious about how professional wedding cakes are constructed, this class focuses on the structural techniques needed to build a stable and elegant tiered cake. During the lesson, students will work with a 6-inch and an 8-inch cake, learning how to properly level, fill, and crumb coat both tiers before preparing them for stacking. Rachel will guide students through the essential techniques used in professional cake construction, including internal supports, proper stacking methods, and how to size cakes appropriately based on serving needs. Students will also learn important tips for leveling, handling, and safely transporting tiered cakes. Once the cake is assembled, students will explore simple decorating options such as florals, piping accents, or fondant details. The exact level of decoration covered will depend on the length of the lesson and the student’s pace. By the end of class, students will leave with a fully assembled two-tier cake and the confidence to build structured tiered cakes in the future. All materials and supplies are included.
