Bid on our classroom creations. Support a local cause.
Welcome to The Cookie Deaux Project, where the desserts created during our classes become an opportunity to give back to our community.
Throughout the year, Rachel creates demonstration cakes, cookies, petit fours, macarons, breads, and other desserts while teaching live classes. Rather than letting these creations go to waste, they are auctioned to benefit deserving nonprofit organizations throughout Acadiana and beyond.
After direct operating expenses associated with running the auction program (such as website software and payment processing fees) have been covered, all remaining proceeds will be donated to registered nonprofit organizations. The demonstration desserts themselves are donated as part of this fundraising effort, and we carefully research each organization before including it in our giving program.
This page will also serve as our public giving record. As donations are made, we'll share the recipient organization, donation amount, and date so you can see exactly where your generosity is making an impact.

Before You Bid Please read the following information before placing a bid: Photos are examples only. Every dessert is created live during class, so colors, decorative details, and final designs may vary. Cake auctions include the single demonstration cake created during that class. Cookie auctions include one complete set featuring one of each design demonstrated in class (typically 7–8 cookies), even if the example photo shows multiple sets or additional cookies. Petit four, macaron, bread, and other dessert auctions include only the items created during that class demonstration. Quantities vary by class and will always be listed in the individual auction description. Each auction listing includes the exact flavors, estimated serving size or quantity, pickup information, payment deadline, and any other important details. Winning bidders must complete payment within the timeframe listed in the individual auction. If payment is not received by the deadline, the item may be offered to the next highest bidder. Thank you for helping us turn our classroom creations into something even more meaningful. Together, we're supporting organizations that make a real difference in the lives of people throughout our community—one bid at a time. Please email us with any questions at info@itsjustacookie.com
How Our Charity Auctions Work Participating is easy! 1. Place your bid in **$5 increments** throughout the auction. 2. When the auction closes, the **highest bidder** will receive an email with an invoice to complete their purchase. 3. **Payment must be received within 4 hours** of the invoice being sent. 4. If payment is not received within the required timeframe, the item will be forfeited and offered to the **next highest bidder**, and so on until the item has been claimed. ### Before You Bid * **Please read each auction description carefully.** Every class project is different and includes important information such as flavors, quantities, pickup dates, and pickup times. * Because these are freshly made cakes, cookies, breads, and other baked goods, **prompt pickup is strongly encouraged** for the best quality. * If you're unable to pick up during the recommended pickup window, we'll do our best to properly store your item until you can make arrangements to pick it up. However, **freshness cannot be guaranteed for delayed pickups.** * **No shipping or delivery is available.** All auction items must be picked up at the location listed in the individual auction description. Thank you for supporting **Bake It Forward**. Every winning bid helps make a positive impact in our community while giving one of our classroom creations a wonderful home!
Food with Love
Fill the Jar for:
The Food With Love kitchen, operated by Hospice of Acadiana, is a specialized ministry in Lafayette, LA, that provides free, homemade meals to terminally ill patients and their families. Run by over 75 volunteers, the program prepares and delivers about 800 meals a week to roughly 125 families on their journey home. Founded locally by Kent Zerangue, the ministry serves both patients on active hospice and their families after the patient's passing. The program recently expanded into a 1,423-square-foot commercial kitchen equipped with tilt kettles, blast chillers, and a 20-foot workspace to better serve the community. If you or a loved one are receiving care from Hospice of Acadiana and need to inquire about meal services, or if you would like to get involved as a volunteer, you can reach out directly via the Food With Love Facebook Page. Would you like information on how to volunteer for the kitchen crew, or do you need to know how to request meal deliveries for a patient in your family?
