The Cookie Deaux Project turns desserts created during our classes into an opportunity to give back. Demonstration cakes, cookies, petit fours, macarons, breads, and other treats are auctioned to support deserving nonprofit organizations throughout Acadiana and beyond.
After direct auction expenses, including website and payment processing fees, all remaining proceeds are donated to registered nonprofits.
We’ll share each organization, donation amount, and date right here so you can see the impact your bids are making.

How Our Charity Auctions Work
Please read before placing a bid.
Auction Items
Each auction item is created live in class on the same day the auction closes. Photos are examples only, so colors and decorative details may vary from the finished item.
Each listing is kept simple and will include the item, flavor, and approximate serving size or quantity, when applicable.

Cakes: One demonstration cake created during class.

Cookies: One complete set with one of each design demonstrated, typically 7–8 cookies.

Petit fours, macarons, breads & other desserts: Items created during the class demonstration; quantities vary by class.
Bidding & Payment
Bids are placed in $5 or $10 increments, depending on the auction item. The highest bidder will receive an invoice by email when the auction closes. Payment is due within 4 hours. If payment is not received, the item will be offered to the next highest bidder.
Pickup
All auction items are frozen after class to preserve freshness. Items cannot be picked up earlier than the Monday following the auction and must be picked up within 4 days of winning.
Pickup is at A Baker’s Paradise, 292 Ridge Road, Lafayette, LA.
Store Hours: Monday & Saturday, 10 AM–2 PM | Tuesday–Friday, 10 AM–6 PM | Sunday, Closed

Food with Love

The Food With Love kitchen, operated by Hospice of Acadiana, is a specialized ministry in Lafayette, LA, that provides free, homemade meals to terminally ill patients and their families. Run by over 75 volunteers, the program prepares and delivers about 800 meals a week to roughly 125 families on their journey home. Founded locally by Kent Zerangue, the ministry serves both patients on active hospice and their families after the patient's passing. The program recently expanded into a 1,423-square-foot commercial kitchen equipped with tilt kettles, blast chillers, and a 20-foot workspace to better serve the community. If you or a loved one are receiving care from Hospice of Acadiana and need to inquire about meal services, or if you would like to get involved as a volunteer, you can reach out directly via the Food With Love Facebook Page. Would you like information on how to volunteer for the kitchen crew, or do you need to know how to request meal deliveries for a patient in your family?

Organizations We Support One of the goals of The Cookie Deaux Project is to make a meaningful impact right here in Acadiana and beyond. Funds raised through our charity auctions (after direct operating expenses associated with running the auction program have been covered) are donated to registered nonprofit organizations that serve our local communities and children in need. As our program grows, this list may change from time to time. New organizations may be added, while others may rotate based on current community needs. Every organization selected is carefully researched before receiving a donation.
